Plaza Libertad

La plaza Libertad fue una zona comercial de importancia de la Capital entre 1892 y 1969 debido a que en sus inmediaciones se encontraba la estación y el kilómetro cero del Ferrocarril El Económico.

Fundada en 1863 como espacio público, fue primero un mercado y entrada este a la ciudad.

En su corazón se alza un imponente monumento llamado «Tributo a la búsqueda de la Libertad». El mismo esta compuesto por una fuente, esculturas de bronce y murales. La obra central tiene 14 metros de alto y representa a  La Libertad Alada. También existen otras esculturas representando a La República; el escudo de Corrientes; siete peces por cada una de las puntas históricas  y dos figuras laterales que simbolizan a los ríos Paraná y Uruguay. En los murales se destacan personalidades ilustres y héroes de la provincia.

Joaquín Madariaga, José María Paz, soldados de Malvinas, Las Cautivas, Genaro Berón de Astrada -caído en Pago Largo- y Juan Gregorio Pujol.

Mural Derecho:
José de Cossio, Carlos María de Alvear, Cazadores Correntinos, Fray José de la Quintana, Tambor de Tacuarí, Granaderos, José de San Martín, Sargento Cabral, Pedro Ferré y Benjamín Virasoro.

El monumento inaugurado en 2025 fue creado por Carlos Benavídez, artista destacado de la cultura a nivel nacional.
