QUÉ HACER

El Museo posee un importante patrimonio compuesto por colecciones de aves, mamíferos, fósiles, geología, peces, anfibios, invertebrados y reptiles de la región.
Fue fundado el 10 de octubre de 1855, siendo el más antiguo de la provincia de Corrientes, de toda la región e incluso es uno de los más antiguos del país. Su fundación fue posible gracias a las colecciones científicas de José Fontenau y Francisco Fournier, siendo designado como primer director nada menos que el célebre Dr. Amado Bonpland, sabio francés de trascendencia internacional que vivió en corrientes.
En agosto de 2017, conmemorándose el Bicentenario del regreso del naturista a América, el museo estrenó su nueva sede en la Costanera General San Martín (Punta Tacuara).
