WHAT TO DO

Ocupa el solar de la antigua Ermita de San Juan Bautista. Sus orígenes se remontan al S. XVII y fue reedificada por el Ing. Nicolás Grosso (1857). Fachada con estilo italianizante (Juan Col-1900). En 1920 se edificó un camarín de estilo neogótico obra de Antonio Samela. Consta de una sola nave de cañón corrido decorado por el artista italiano Miguel Pascarelli. El retablo mayor de líneas manieristas data del S. XIX. La virgen de La Merced es Patrona de la ciudad de Corrientes.
Descubrimos en su interior confesionarios de madera de cedro del S. XVIII tallados a mano y el Mausoleo de Las Cautivas Correntinas.

Es Monumento Histórico Provincial y Monumento Histórico Nacional Conjunto Urbano Plaza 25 de Mayo.
