Chamamé

La expresión popular de un pueblo.

 

La música correntina posee un ritmo inconfundible «EL CHAMAMÉ«, que tiene sus raíces en la unión de la cultura guaraní con la música europea y constituye la música y danza típica de la provincia.  Otros ritmos muy populares son el rasguido doble, el valseado y la polca correntina.

Los instrumentos característicos son la guitarra y el acordeón.

Cada año, durante el mes de enero, se realiza la fiesta Nacional y del Mercosur del chamamé. El genero sintetiza en sus melodías, su poesía y su danza el verdadero núcleo de la cultura correntina. Cuenta con las actuaciones de un sinnúmero de artistas de la región, invitados de Uruguay, Paraguay y Brasil y de otras provincias de nuestro país . Las más importantes figuras del chamamé desfilan durante diez noches por el Anfiteatro «Mario del Transito Cocomarola», protagonizando una de las mayores fiestas populares del país, donde se origina el famoso «Sapukái», ese grito que nace de las entrañas y que estalla en la garganta, expresando un sentimiento.
